Have a wander around Green market square or through the squirrel filled gardens by the SA Cultural History Museum just off the main Adderley Street. The esplanade in the shadows of the City Hall serves as a stage for political rallies as well as a market selling everything from food to clothes. The Castle of Good Hope overlooks the esplanade and it is the oldest colonial building in South Africa. One of the oldest residential areas of Cape Town, the Bo Kaap is a unique neighbourhood with a strong cultural and social history. With 3.5 million residents, it's the third largest city in the country, after Johannesburg and Cape Town. Durban is South Africa's self-proclaimed 'playground', where the year-round warm weather encourages visitors to make the most of the province's outdoor lifestyle. O cilju: Hluhluwe–Imfolozi Park, formerly Hluhluwe–Umfolozi Game Reserve, is the oldest officially designated nature reserve in Africa. Covering 960 km² (96,000 ha) of hilly terrain about 280 kilometres north of Durban in central Zululand, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, it is renowned for its rich wildlife and strong conservation work. It is the only state-run park in KwaZulu-Natal where all of the Big Five can be seen. Thanks to sustained conservation efforts, the park now supports the world’s largest population of white rhino. However, both the rhinos and the park’s wilderness are under threat from plans for an open-cast coal mine on its border, a proposal that a growing coalition of organisations is actively opposing.
